Leg 7 - Leonora - Kalgoorlie  The mood was pensive in the Australasian Safari camp this morning before the final leg of the race from Leonora to Kalgoorlie, and despite some strong lead times, the fastest competitors are not relaxing. more images

Leg 6 - Leonora Loop  The Leg 6 course west of Leonora took competitors in and around old mine sites and salt lakes and areas damaged by water erosion for 377 competitive kilometres. Some of the tracks had not been used for several years along with rough, rocky and overgrown sections and finishing in deep sand and a final fast section. more images

Leg 5 - Laverton to Leonora  Stages 10 and 11 that made up Safari today demanded competitors’ full attention. Trees had to be navigated throughout the track that started off fast before tightening as it twisted and turned its way around a huge salt lake. Caution was key to staying in the race. more images

Leg 4 - Laverton Loop  Soft sand and fast flowing stages test competitor endurance Leg 4 was the longest distance travelled for Australasian Safari competitors as they raced in three stages totalling 662 competitive kilometres in a looped course around Laverton in Western Australia’s northern goldfields on the edge of the Great Northern Desert. more images

Leg 3 - Sandstone to Laverton  Over 560 competitive kilometres, the 48 motos, 11 autos and and 5 quad riders and drivers left in the competition faced many twists and turns, incredibly challenging navigation across rocky breakaways, overgrown fence lines, twisted tracks, stone roads, flood plains, and tricky navigation around bores, tanks, and windmills. more images

Leg 2 - Mount Magnet to Sandstone  The tall grasses that gave grief to competitors over the last two days have cleared and the pace increased as Safari headed further inland from Mt Magnet to Sandstone today on 326km of competitive stages. more images

Leg 1 Geraldton - Mount Magnet  While dazzling to look at for tourists, the carpets of wildflowers in the Western Australian outback proved treacherous for competitors on Leg 1 of Australasian Safari. more images
