Australasian Safari shapes up for a HUGE 2010!

With just over five months before the dirt flies in the West Australian outback, the 2010 Australasian Safari is already shaping up for its biggest year yet.Australasian Safari Event Director Justin Hunt said the Early Bird Entry incentive had been well received, with both international and local entries in moto, auto and quad categories confirmed.
“The entry list already looks strong. We will have Josh Hall and the Rod Hall Racing Hummer team return in 2010, which is fantastic news for the event.
“Josh was a welcome inclusion in 2009 when he introduced the first US entry and the mighty Hummer to the competition.
“Now he understands the event, he will be a force to be reckoned with in 2010.”
In addition to the early US entries, three new teams from Japan have signed up in the Moto division.
“Mr Akihiro Saito, Mr Koji Ikematsu, and Mr Norihisa Matsumoto will join us from Japan in 2010, the largest number of Japanese entries to date,” Justin said.
Details of the course will be available in coming weeks, and road crews report plenty of challenges as the extreme endurance event works its way through Western Australia for the fourth time.
The 2010 Australasian Safari will start in Perth on 17 September and finish on 25 September thousands of kilometres into the remote West Australian countryside. While final details of the course are being confirmed, organisers have said there will be some new overnight stops.
“We will visit four new WA towns in 2010 which will create some surprises for competitors and new touring opportunities for their teams and supporters.
“We look forward to providing more details on these in coming weeks,” Justin said.

The Australasian Safari caters for all levels of moto experience thanks to the Adventure Tour component. This category welcomes non-competitive riders who want to experience the outback course without the need to ride against the clock.
In 2010, there are two entry levels for Adventure Tour – the Moto Tour Challenge for experienced trail or ex-enduro level riders capable of traversing long distances of relatively challenging tracks; and the Moto Tour for larger and heavier touring type bikes and/or the less experienced riders on trail bikes. Interested riders should lodge an Expression of Interest on the website as soon as possible.
